Reflection on Arch:1142 Architectural Communications : Fluid thoughts and movements to actions

This workshop was a fairly challenging one. It had a lot of demand on me in terms of the mediums used, the type of work and time management.

We were introduced to different mediums, one of them was charcoal. By using charcoal I learnt how to sketch basic shapes of form and details with the charcoal, add dimension to work from dark to light, capture the 3D essence of still life with charcoal, set the drawing with a fixative and a lot more.

We also learnt a lot about watercolours. We learnt basic techniques of stretching, how to apply tones and the timing to apply layers. The tutors also guided to various brush work, tonal work, mixing tones, selecting good paper and a lot more.

I think this component of the course has helped my studies significantly; firstly it enabled to draw building and still life. It also gave me a lot more confidence and taught me ways of presenting my work. One of the the personal goal that I achieved during the course of this respective workshop is that I learnt to managed my time a lot better. Personally I have thoroughly enjoyed this course and the challenges that it presented.
